Verify that the printer priority setting for the copier is set to "Printer" and not "Copier." This setting can be found in the key operator section under tab 6/6.

Description
Memory overflow error when scanning.
Solution
CAUSE: A memory overflow error is generated when there is not a sufficient amount of document memory installed to handle the print or scan job.
SOLUTION: Install more memory. The minimum required memory for the copier Di450/Di550/Di470 to allow scanning is 64MB (32MB default + 32MB
upgrade). The minimum required memory for the Pi5501/Pi4700e print controller is 160MB (32MB default + 128MB upgrade). The 128MB upgrade is not
needed for the Pi5500 print controllers, however, increasing the memory on these controllers will enhance the performance when scanning or printing very
large jobs. This should be considered when installing and configuring the Pi5500 controller..

1. See the following service bulletins for reference:
a. Bulletin 3646 -- This bulletin provides information in regards to the minimum memory requirements for scanning for the Di450/Di550/Di470 copiers.
b. Bulletin 3364 -- This bulletin provides information in regards to the minimum memory requirements for the Pi5501/Pi4700e controllers.
